Reality Billboard!

On Como Town’s scrapbook page on our Web site visitors can view and share their favorite pictures from Como Town. We have some great photos from parents of kids enjoying Como Town and we’ve used a few of them for our marketing and advertising (with permission of course).

This past week we have billboards up all over the Twin Cities featuring one of our scrapbook guests—The Mackey’s from Blaine on the Frog Hopper. We don’t have a big budget for models (bribed them with a few passes to Como Town) or even a creative marketing agency (we do everything in house with our staff of five) but this family LOVED the opportunity to be bigger than life and had their picture taken with their billboard and then spent the day at Como Town!

Thanks Mackeys! And, Como Town fans, send your family fun photos to comotowngazette@comotown.com if you’d like to share your favorite pictures from Como Town.

Homemade Ice Cream in a Bag

Feeling the heat of summer? Want to cool down after a long day at Como Town? Make some homemade ice cream in only five minutes!

What You'll Need:
• 1 tablespoon sugar
• 1/2 cup milk or half & half
• 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
• 6 tablespoons rock salt
• 1 pint-size plastic food storage bag
• 1 gallon-size plastic food storage bag
• Ice cubes

How to Make It:

1. Fill the large bag half full of ice, and add the rock salt. Seal the bag.

2. Put milk, vanilla, and sugar into the small bag, and seal it.

3. Place the small bag inside the large one, and seal it again carefully.

4. Shake until the mixture is ice cream, which takes about 5 minutes.

5. Wipe off the top of the small bag, then open it carefully. Enjoy!
