Back-to-School Bookmarks

It’s time to unzip the backpacks, take out the books and start reading! Make this fun bookmark craft so you can mark the page every time you read something new this year.

Materials:
• Construction paper or poster board
• Scissors or pinking shears
• Markers or colored pencils
• Personal photographs & glue
• Glitter & Stickers
• Rubber stamps & ink pad
• Clear, self-adhesive laminating paper
• Tassel, ribbon or braided material

Instructions:

1. Begin with a piece of construction paper or poster board 6 inches long and 1-to-2 inches wide. For wavy or jagged edges, cut the paper with pinking shears.

2. Decorate your bookmark! Personalize it using markers or colored pencils to draw your own picture or write your name. You can even glue pictures of you, friends or family. Use glitter, stamps or stickers to add flair to this craft.

3. For a glossy finish, cover bookmarks with clear, self-adhesive laminating paper.

4. Finally, punch a hole in top of bookmarks and tie on a tassel, ribbon or colorful braid.

5. You now have your very own personalized bookmark to use at school!
